Body Fat monitors
There are a number of different devices that can monitor your body fat including calipers, digital scales and handheld device. In general, scales can give you the most information but they are the most difficult to set up.
This device looks a bit like a steering wheel. It gauges how much muscle, fat and water you have in your body. This should be used 3 hours after a meal and preferably when you have no clothes on.
This is a very cool-looking scale, mostly black with silver lines. It has a big LED display that glows blue and is easy to read. This scale actually creates a slight electrical current that passes through the body. That means that children, pregnant women and people with pacemakers or metal plates should not use this device.
The Yunmai scale actually links up to the internet and comes with a free app for iOS or Android. You can look at your numbers on your phone or desktop, and they can be tracked automatically. Bluetooth will need to be turned on, but once that is done there is really no other setup. You will need wifi for the device to connect to your app.
This is a caliper, a handheld device that you can pinch yourself with and it will measure your fat percentage. The AZMED Skinfold comes with a measuring tape, a fat calculator and a tracking chart. These caliper’s are made of plastic and work best with people who have relatively low levels of fat.
The Tanita scale measures body weight and body water. It uses a light electrical pulse. Tanita says that the scale is fine for children, but you might want to be careful with that electrical pulse. The scale is said to be so accurate that you could weigh postage with it.
This is a nice-looking dark scale with a bright digital readout. Unlike most scales, this one has the capacity to weigh people who are up to 400 pounds. Some people claim that the fat percent calculator doesn’t work right.
This caliper comes with instructions, measuring tape and a tracking chart. It is quick and easy to use.

These devices involve a cuff that goes either around the arm or the wrist. They inflate and have a device that records your blood pressure. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that there are some devices that give inaccurate readings.

This is a very popular monitor that tracks up to 100 readings on your smartphone using the free Omron app, which works on most iOS and Android devices. It even detects irregular heartbeats.
This monitor straps onto your wrist. You hold it across your chest so that it is level with your heart. It can record your heartbeat, check for hypertension and it is able to recall your previous reading in case your forget to record it.
This device come with a cuff that fits a wide range of arms. It can store over 200 previous measurements. This device is a less complicated version of what hospitals use. The monitor can be inaccurate on occasion. Reset it to get it working again.
This straps to the wrist and inflates on command to take a BP reading. The memory can store 60 readings and it detects irregular heartbeats.
This device comes with am upper arm cuff. The screen is very bright and readable. A lot of people rave about this device. A small percent of users claim that it gives inaccurate readings.

The Freestyle is small and very fast. It only needs a tiny amount of blood.
This starter kit has 50 strips, 100 lancets, solution, the meter and more. This is a very comprehensive set. The lancets bend easily, so be careful.
You will need to buy lancets and control solution to use this. You should be wary with this device. A 2012 consumer report found that about 60% of the One Touch devices were very inaccurate.
This has a wireless connection that can used with the free iHealth Gluco-Smart app to track your blood sugar. This does not come with strips, solution or lancets and the app does not work very well.
This kit comes with everything you need including 100 strips and 100 adjustable lancets and it requires only a small blood sample. The screen can flicker depending on how you hold it.
This meter requires no coding and gives results in about 10 seconds.
This kit comes with a meter and 50 strips. It allows you to test the forearm or the fingertip. It requires quite a bit of blood and is a bit picky.

What the difference between Weight loss to fat loss
Weight loss is the reduction of your Global weight. (What your whole body weights of). Fat loss is the reduction of just the fat covering your body.
