Best RDX Hook & Jab Pads

The RDX focus pads are excellent for beginner and mid-level training, though they may not be ideal for advanced boxer training. One of the better qualities about the RDX is the inclusion of three different types of padding to help protect your hands from harder hits. The mesh backing keeps your hands dry, while the finger grips are some of the better that we saw. That said, these focus pads are not the most durable due to a vinyl cover and will not stand up to professional training. Another knock against their use for professional training is their weight which runs a bit heavy, slowing down your reaction time.

Best Meister Cowhide Leather Curved Focus Mitts

Like some of the other brands on our list, Meister has earned a better reputation in the training products for boxers rather than the fighting products. When looking at their focus mitts, Meister offers some of the better professional options available. These mitts are made out of cowhide leather and can take a continuous beating. They are also among the lightest focus mitts we saw and also provide some of the best wrist support. However, the wearer will have to contend with their hands getting hot and sweaty, and the padding is not nearly as thick as with some other mitts.

Best RDX Cowhide Leather Hook & Jab Pads

The second RDX focus mitts we saw aims to alleviate many of the potential issues of the previous pair that made those ones a bit unsuitable for professional training use. For instance, these focus mitts are tied for the lightest that we reviewed. They also trade out the vinyl outer for more durable cowhide to take a tougher beating. That said, these mitts do not fit quite as well as the other RDX’s though they do still provide plenty of ventilation. Moreover, both pairs of RDX focus mitts are a bit large–which is fine for less experienced boxers but not ideal for refining target accuracy.

Best Platinum GelTech Catch-N-Feed Micro Punch Mitt

Platinum may not have the same name brand recognition in the fighting market as many of the other brands on our list, but they do provide some distinct advantages over many of the more modern constructions. For one, these mitts have a somewhat small profile which makes them great for refining target practice. On top of that, their durable leather construction is also forgiving to bare-handed training. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the trainer’s hands who will have to deal with the least amount of padding that we saw. These mitts are also heavier than most and not nearly as curved.

Best Sanabul Essential Curved Punching Mitts

Sanabul is a brand that aims to provide a professional grade of quality at a much lower cost than many of the other top brands we reviewed. With their focus mitts, Sanabul achieves this with a combination of strength and quickness. These mitts are made out of durable leather, but they are also the lightest mitts we found. While the Sanabul mitts fit fairly well, they do not feature any of the more advanced mesh seen on other and will cause hot sweaty hands. These mitts are also lagging a bit in design as they do not offer a great curve and their padding is a bit substandard.
